Judy, Judy, Judy!
Children's entertainer
coming to library
ELLSWORTH
Internationally acclaimed children's singer/songwriter Judy Pancoast
will perform a family concert at the Ellsworth Public Library on Wednesday,
Aug. 11, at 6:30 p.m.
Ms. Pancoast has been bringing her special
brand of family entertainment to audiences throughout the United States
for many years. With pop concert excitement featuring family-friendly
lyrics, her music bridges the entertainment gap for families whose children
have outgrown Barney, but are not yet ready for Britney.
"She's brought happiness to more children than anyone else from
New Hampshire," says Dottie Kelsey, past president of the New Hampshire
Association for the Education of Young Children. New Hampshire Commissioner
of Education Nicholas Donohue has called Ms. Pancoast "a state
treasure."
Her award-winning music and high-energy performance will delight audiences
young and old. Interactive audience participation is highly encouraged:
Be warned: You might find yourself "Swimming in Jell-O" or
doing "The Potty Dance" along with your children.
"This is not a quiet, peaceful show. Unless the audience is laughing,
singing and dancing, I don't feel I've done my job," says Ms. Pancoast.
"There's something weird about kids sitting still for too long!"
Children respond to that message eagerly. Recently, a 7-year-old fan
sought out Ms. Pancoast after a school performance, exclaiming, "You
rocked the cafeteria all the way back!"
